Two things people come here for. Both are below, and they cost the same: nothing.
The register is run by Gas Safe Register. We do not decide who is on it and we do not rate anyone.
The official record is the one to trust. Gas Safe Register publishes it, and it is free to search:
Check this engineer on gassaferegister.co.uk →
Ask to see the card as well. It carries the licence number and the exact gas work that engineer is signed off for — those two can differ.
Got it. We pass this to registered engineers covering your postcode. If none reply within two working days, we will say so rather than leave you waiting.
In the meantime the official finder lists everyone registered near you: find an engineer on gassaferegister.co.uk →
| Question | The register answers it |
|---|---|
| Is this person allowed to work on gas at all? | Yes — that is exactly what it is for. |
| Which gas appliances is this person signed off for? | Yes, on the card. Boiler ≠ cooker ≠ commercial catering. |
| Is the registration current today? | Yes. Cards expire; the register is the live copy. |
| Was the work done well? | No. That is not what a register is. |
| Is the price fair? | No. |
